Enjoy the beautiful winter nature of Northern Finland while on our Aurora Hunting safari in Oulu. With a bit of luck, the highlight of the tour is a dance of Auroras across a starry Northern sky. We are proud to collaborate with Thomas Kast, a top professional in Northern lights tours, who serves as a trainer and consultant for Nallikari Safaris.
The Aurora Hunting safari begins at our Nallikari Experience Center, typically between 8-9 PM. At the beginning, participants have the opportunity to change into winter clothes, after which we start walking towards the nearby seaside under the starry sky.
Once a suitable location is found (either on the seaside or on the frozen sea), we gather to sit by a campfire, enjoying the nocturnal landscape with hot drink and fried sausage. We will also set up a heated tent in connection with the camp, where you can warm up if necessary. In the warmth of the campfire and the atmosphere it creates, we share stories of northern winter nature while admiring the night sky.
While we strive to provide the best experience possible, it is important to realize that Northern Lights sightings can never be guaranteed. If the weather forecast indicates cloudy or snowy conditions that make sightings impossible, we offer two alternative solutions:
1) We will organize a snowshoeing safari (or, if there's no snow, a nighttime nature walk) in the beautiful seaside and forest landscapes of Nallikari. We'll also set up a campfire for frying sausages and brewing pot coffee over the open flames. Enjoy the enchanting forest scenery in glow of headlamps and gather around the fire as we share stories about the Northern winter nature and the mesmerizing aurora borealis.
2) The safari is cancelled with a 75 % refund of the service price.
Please note: Changing a date of a safari is usually impossible on short notice and for this reason the service price does not include an option for changes one week prior to the service.

Price includes: Guidance (trained Aurora guides), Winter clothing (overalls, gloves, beanie and boots), heated tent, comfortable seats, an open fire in nature, snacks, and hot beverages.
