Explore the maritime charm of Hailuoto, Finland’s third largest island, on a guided day tour from Oulu. Discover local art, history, and nature – from lighthouses and breweries to scenic seashores.
This is a private safari exclusively for your group; there will be no other participants. We open the safari by request. Please contact us by email (info@nallikarisafaris.fi) and specify your preferred dates, after which we will open the days for booking if our guides are available!
Join us on a guided tour of Hailuoto Island with a professional guide and experience the island and its fascinating history at their best. The tour starts from Nallikari, Oulu, or we can pick you up from your accommodation in the Oulu area. You will be returned to your starting point at the end of the tour.
At the beginning of the trip, you can enjoy the fresh sea air on a car ferry. Our first stop on the island is in Ulkokarvo, where you can see the concrete artwork Organium, created by Hai Art. From there, we continue to Marjaniemi to visit the lighthouse and the old fishing village.
On the way back, we can visit places like the Hailuoto Brewery, Luovon Puoji, or the Knivilä Local History Museum, depending on their opening hours. The tour can also be tailored to your wishes.
Did you know that the name of the island is said to come from the word ‘haili’, which means herring?
